Graduates

Bruce J. Gore

Bruce J. Gore

B.J. Gore is the 18-year-old son of Bruce and Marie Gore, and the grandson of Pauline (Davis) Gore. He is a member of the Hvteyievlke Band.

B.J. is a talented artist and an active community volunteer and fundraiser for school activities. Among other accomplishments, B.J. has actively participated in Close Up programs in Washington, D.C., and holds the distinction of being named a University of Alaska Scholar. He will graduate from Cantwell High School on May 30, 2008.

Following graduation, B.J. will attend the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, where he has been accepted into the civil engineering program this fall. An avid snowboarder, he plans to take full advantage of the outdoor sports and winter recreational activities that Alaska provides, while continuing to maintain strong community and family ties.

Kerri Ann Larney

Kerri Ann Larney

Kerri Ann “NoKoSe” Larney is the 17-year-old daughter of Walter and Rebecca Larney of Wewoka, and the granddaughter of Eliza and the late Reverend Arthur Coon of Sasakwa and Geneva and the late Lee Larney of Shawnee. She is Absentee Shawnee, Euchee and Seminole, and a member of the Rewalke Band and Tiger Clan.A senior at Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah, Kerri is a member of several organizations: H.O.P.E. – Honoring Our People’s Existence – Club, National Honor Society, Dorm Council, Learn and Serve Cherokee Heritage Service Club and American Indian Science and Engineering Society. She also served as team captain at the Creek Nation Language Challenge Bowl and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque, N.M. Kerri is also the recipient of two United States Achievement Academy awards: one for achievements in the field of science, and the other for leadership and service.

She was also crowned 2007-2008 Sequoyah High School H.O.P.E. Club Princess and formerly served as Jr. Miss Seminole Nation Princess from 2005-2006.Kerri plans to further her education after graduation and will pursue a degree in political science, business administration and Native American studies.

Geoffrey Little

Geoffrey Little

Geoffrey Little is the son of Ellis and Nancy Little of Tahlequah, the paternal grandson of Ida and the late Terry Little of Seminole and the maternal grandson of Joe and Marilyn Christie and the late Terry Gourd of Tahlequah. He is a member of the Ocese Band and Deer Clan.

Currently an eighth grader, Geoffrey will graduate from Woodall Schools, where he participated in football, basketball, track and cross-country, this spring. Geoffrey was a member of the back-to-back ORES State Football championship team in 2007 and 2008. He was also awarded the Trail of Tears Award for Excellence.

Geoffrey will attend Sequoyah High School next year, where he hopes to play football and basketball.

Tori LeeAnne Long

Tori LeeAnne Long

Tori is the daughter of Bobby and Georgia Long. She is a member of the Tallahassee Band and the Bird Clan.

Tori will graduate from the Holdenville High School this spring. Among her many activities, Tori is active in Student Council and Native American Student Council, and has participated in both fast and slow pitch softball. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among American High School Students. For four years,Tori has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll, and she will be a gold diploma recipient at graduation.

Tori plans to attend Wes Watkins Technology Center in the fall, and one day become a nurse.

Chris Little

Chris Little

Chris Little is the son of Ellis and Nancy Little of Tahlequah, the paternal grandson of Ida and the late Terry Little of Seminole and the maternal grandson of Joe and Marilyn Christie and the late Terry Gourd of Tahlequah. He is a member of the Ocese Band and Deer Clan.

Chris was a member of the Sequoyah High School basketball team that twice finished as state finalists. He was also part of two state champion cross-country teams his freshman and sophomore year. Chris was president of the Drug Free Youth program, and a member of both the National Honor Society and S.W.A.T. – students working against tobacco. He also earned Rotary Student of the Month honors.

The recipient of the 4 Love of the Game Scholarship, Chris plans to attend either OU or Seminole State College in the fall.

Jared Ray Alexander

Jared Ray Alexander

Jared Ray Alexander is the son of Frank and Floy Alexander. He is a member of the Hecete Band.

Jared was an active member of both the school band and golf team at Seminole High School. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee in the fall.

Kyle Yargee

Kyle Yargee

Kyle Yargee will be graduating from kindergarten at Varnum Elementary School in the spring. He is the son of Vanessa and J.B. Smith of Seminole, and a member of the Tallahassee Band and Deer Clan. Kyle loves to play traditional stickball and baseball.

His future plan is to be either a firefighter or a police officer. He said that when he graduates high school, he wants to be an OU Sooner.

Congratulations Kyle. You did a very good job. Keep up the good work.

Ryan Ray Cloud

Ryan Ray Cloud

Ryan Cloud is the son of Charlene Cloud, nephew of Sandra Cloud, and brother of Trent and Sarada Lena. He is a member of the Mekusukey Band and the Bear Clan.

Ryan will graduate this spring as the co-Salutatorian of the New Lima High School senior class. He has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll since freshman year.

At an interscholastic meet this year at Seminole State College, Ryan placed first in physical science, second in physics and third in algebra II. At Southeastern Oklahoma State University, he placed second in both trigonometry and math challenge.

Ryan plans to earn his associates degree at Seminole State College, then continue his education at either OU or OSU in pursuit of an engineering degree.
